Needing something to read and unable to feel inspired by anything on the supermarket shelves, my DD 12 showed me her school reading book ....
Love, Aubrey is such a cute little story of eleven-year-old Aubrey, who finds herself living all alone. It’s okay, for a while. She buys plenty of SpaghettiO’s to eat and a pet fish to keep her company. While SpaghettiO’s and pet fish are both wonderful things, sometimes even the strongest people find they need a little more. Even tho she didn't really want her help Aubrey was secretly happy when her Gram arrived and took her back to Vermont. Aubrey struck up a magical friendship with the young girl Bridget next door, and with the help of her Gram, Bridget's little sister Mabel, and the few people she encounters throughout the hardest days Aubrey starts to come to terms with a devastating car accident claims the lives of her dad and seven year old sister, Savannah and begins putting the pieces of her life back together, while waiting for news that her mother is OK.
A beautifully written and deeply moving story ...
Love the bed of flowers the book rests on!
